Attleborough Boxing club

Last week I went to Attleborough boxing club to see if it would be suitable as a film location. I spoke to the head coach and manager, Jon who was very helpful and introduce me to someone called Levi Dennis, who has started full time training and is the same age as us.
He said he was happy to be filmed training at the gym but when I asked if he would be up for filming outside of the gym in his spare time he didn't seem so keen.

The gym itself is perfect for the type of location we wanted, with the gym and outside areas we can get lots of footage. One problem I did notice was that the lighting wasn't very dramatic and for a match low key lighting would be good to give the footage more of an edge. We will probably look in to supplying our own lights.
Jon also invited us to film at Connaught hall on the 19th of November when the club is hosting 18 bouts of boxing. This would be really good footage to use for the music video so me and Rosie are planning to go.

Initial Ideas

I have to so initial ideas, they are similar ideas but based around two different songs. I like to mind map my ideas because this means i can link parts together and getting everything down on paper before I start adapting it. One of the main parts of mise en scene that I want to focus on more than the others is camera angles. This is going to be important especially to show the change in perspective between the characters. It will also give the video an edge.

Song Choice

I've chosen to use Powerless by Rudimental as the song for my music video. This has been one of my potential choices from when I first changed my idea. I wasn't really sure whether it would fit or not but after I put it with my footage to see how they went together, I thought they fitted really well. I've divided the song into sections of the choruses and verses so that I can match my footage accordingly. The music video to this already contains a strong narrative as do many of Rudimental's videos.

Actors

This is Ruth, Freddie and Chris. I asked these to film because I wanted it to look like a young family and I was positive they would be willing to help out. I am hoping that their connection to each other will come through on camera. This is John and Harry they are brothers and have kindly agreed to be in the music video. As with the family I want there connection as brothers to come through in the footage. There's is a big age gap in there and I would like the influence of the older brother to be obvious when I film, so he comes across as a role model. Josie acted as Becky Hill the featured singer on the song. The setting was a recording studio were Josie lip synced the song, with the recording microphone and stand I managed to get as a prop.
