Research 1 (Preliminary Task)

To get ideas for our music video I found some similar music videos on youtube that included a kid and the idea of him being transported to another place and has some link to his imagination. I thought this video was useful because though there isn't a strong, detailed storyline there is a wide range of shots that make it really interesting. I noticed that some of the shots are from a high angle, looking down on the scene as well as the tracking shot of him on the bike; these shots were probably filmed on a drone. I thought this would be really useful for our video as we are mainly filming outside.
Also in this music video there is a lot of slow motion shots that look really affective; this combined with close up shots would add a lot of variation in our music video.

Initial Ideas

I have to so initial ideas, they are similar ideas but based around two different songs. I like to mind map my ideas because this means i can link parts together and getting everything down on paper before I start adapting it. One of the main parts of mise en scene that I want to focus on more than the others is camera angles. This is going to be important especially to show the change in perspective between the characters. It will also give the video an edge.

Final Plot Ideas (Preliminary Task)

This is our final plot ideas: The main character (a young boy) puts on his superhero mask and runs into his garden to get into his tent/den. The tent then transports him into another woodland world in which there will be others all dancing. In the middle of all the dancing and partying in the new forest the young boy will trip up/fall over in some way and as he hits the floor he will be transported back to his garden and outside the tent/den.  The boy will then realise he's back home and may be greeted by his mother asking wheres he been (that scene will be dependant on availability of actors). We tried to keep our idea as simplistic as possible, this was to ensure that we didn't over complicate the meaning of the video which is simply just about the young boy enjoying himself in his own imagination when he has the safety of his superhero costume on.

Song Choice

These are the song choices I have thought of for the revised narrative of the music video.
