Shooting Schedule (Preliminary Task)

Day 1 Tuesday 5th July - We will shoot all the inside and garden footage at my house for about the first 45 seconds of the video. All three of us will be there and these shots are only of Toby so we don't need any extras.
Day 2 Tuesday 12th July - This is for the main part of the music video and will be shot at Longs Wood. We have arranged to have a drone to film on and for 3 extras as well as Toby.
Day 3 - Thursday 21st July - We will be filming the finale to the music video and any extra shots we need. For this we have managed to get 4 extras and Toby.

Final Plot Ideas (Preliminary Task)

This is our final plot ideas: The main character (a young boy) puts on his superhero mask and runs into his garden to get into his tent/den. The tent then transports him into another woodland world in which there will be others all dancing. In the middle of all the dancing and partying in the new forest the young boy will trip up/fall over in some way and as he hits the floor he will be transported back to his garden and outside the tent/den.  The boy will then realise he's back home and may be greeted by his mother asking wheres he been (that scene will be dependant on availability of actors). We tried to keep our idea as simplistic as possible, this was to ensure that we didn't over complicate the meaning of the video which is simply just about the young boy enjoying himself in his own imagination when he has the safety of his superhero costume on.

Research of existing music videos - Dizzee Rascal - Bassline Junky

This is effective in using live performance and syncing the miming with the song lyrics throughout the entirety of the music video. After watching numerous student videos who have failed really bad in successfully syncing the miming, therefore during my music video any live performance I have will be minimalistic to prevent it from appearing out of time. This video lacks a narrative that's separate from the lyrics itself, watching the video without any sound it would be hard to get a story or what's relevant which is effective for this light hearted song but is not something I want to replicate in my video.

Existing Student Music Video

I thought it'd be important to research other student made music video's by the same artist - Tinie Tempah - who I'm hoping to use for my own video. During the start of this video with the singer against the background I found that the starting shot made the video look very unprofessional- especially with the font choice that looked like a child's writing. As the video progresses I found it to be almost completely the same idea as the original music video by Tinie Tempah except at a lower quality. The lip syncing is not ideal either especially as 80% of the video is including a 'live performance'. However I did like how they used text messages as a form of dialogue instead of having a character actually speaking and interferring with the video.
